Proteomics

Proteomics is a new and exciting technology that permits an understanding of the protein profile of disease states. MALDI-TOF

mass spectrometry is one of the well recognized techniques that can be utilised for this purpose. Learning more about the

proteomics of diseases could  help us find new treatments.

The proteomics unit at NPIMR is a facility with clincian scientists and basic scientists working together, in the firm belief

that translation of scientific knowledge into clinically useful technology can only be achieved by putting ‘research for

patient benefit’ at the core of research strategy. Research conducted is both ‘bench to bedside’ and ‘bedside to bench’

in order to address patient problems.
